Founded in 2006 by Daniel Barbu, Stylecraft Homes began with a mission: to build beautiful, lasting homes through honest craftsmanship and personal connection. What began as a solo venture has evolved into a close-knit, family-owned business rooted in hands-on leadership and attention to detail.

Now, Daniel and his daughter, Chloe, work side-by-side, maintaining the same dedication to service, quality, and communication that first set Stylecraft Homes apart. Our intentionally limited project load means every client benefits from our undivided attention, consistent communication, and hands-on presence throughout the entire process.

MEET THE TEAM

Daniel Barbu

FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Daniel's story begins far from North Carolina, in Romania, where he was born and raised before immigrating to the United States in 1985. In Florida, he learned English, studied Industrial Engineering at Florida International University, and met his wife of over thirty years, Martha. Together, they’ve built a life and a family of four children rooted in faith, hard work, and a passion for building things that last.

After several years working for multinational corporations, Daniel founded Stylecraft Homes with a clear vision: to combine the precision of engineering with the timeless beauty of thoughtful design. He draws inspiration from the old-world architecture of his childhood and the innovation he sees in modern American homes, bringing a unique blend of craftsmanship, curiosity, and discipline to each project.

With over two decades of construction experience and a deep understanding of how quality is built from the ground up, Daniel remains personally involved in every home. He manages subcontractors, oversees quality at each stage, and ensures that every build reflects the care and character that have defined Stylecraft from the very beginning.

Chloe Barbu

PROJECT MANAGER & DESIGN LEAD

Chloe joined Stylecraft Homes full time shortly after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Her connection to the family business started long before that, shaped by years of watching her family build and design personal homes and by countless business conversations shared around the dinner table.

Even during college, Chloe remained closely involved, often commuting home to support projects and meet with clients. Her passion for construction and design deepened through hands-on experience, eventually leading her to carve out a meaningful role as both a project manager and creative guide. She has since been featured on The Design Network’s Going Pro, a reflection of her growing presence in the design and building space.

Chloe brings a grounded energy and relational approach to every build. She is known for her authenticity, attention to detail, and the way she makes clients feel seen, heard, and valued. With a deep belief in the beauty of everyday moments and a drive to always keep learning, she helps turn complex projects into clear, collaborative, and inspired experiences.
